VendorRate (www.vendorrate.com) reported today that IT professionals attending the recent COLLABORATE09 Oracle user group event gave high customer satisfaction scores to smaller consulting vendors while Oracle Consulting and other top industry names received the lowest ratings.
VendorRate.com, the only Internet site that offers quick, confidential performance ratings and comparisons of technology vendors, collected some 400 ratings from attendees during COLLABORATE09, an international event hosted by three major Oracle user groups May 3-7 in Orlando. Attendees were invited to rate any IT or telecom vendor, regardless of whether a vendor was exhibiting at the show.
“When it comes to Oracle consultants, the bigger the brands, the lower the scores,” said Rick Schaefer, CEO of VendorRate. “Small and medium sized vendors continually score at the top of the charts while the big consulting organizations receive the lowest scores.”
“One of the advantages of being a member of the Independent Oracle Users Group is strength in numbers,” said Ian Abramson, President of the IOUG. “Hundreds of our members shared their ratings of IT vendors during the COLLABORATE event, and now the rest of the IT community can benefit from their evaluations.”
With a maximum possible score of 100 based on ten key performance categories, Solution Beacon received the top cumulative rating of 89 at the show. Among well-known vendors, Sun Microsystems (Servers), Oracle Software, Dell and HP (Servers) also collected top scores.
The lowest rated vendor was Business Objects (40). In addition to Oracle Consulting, others in the bottom group included IBM Global Services, Deloitte Consulting, Microsoft Operating Systems and Symantec Storage and Backup.
